Dick Bremer (Twins TV broadcaster) said he asked Joe Crede about his bats ... Dick had noticed too that nice 'dirty' one that I posted about. Crede said he only breaks 10-12 bats a year.

Bremer asked Harmon Killebrew ealier this year, or maybe last year, about what he thought of maple bats and all the broken bats and what he thought. Harmon said he thought it was less a "bat problem" and more of a player problem -- that they aren't careful as much anymore about hitting it on the proper spot on the bat. I agree! I'll bet if you looked at Mauer's bats and Crede's most of the marks would all be on the proper spot on the bat.
