Why Mears or what ever on .......

Currently there is a JASON GIAMBI GAME USED JERSEY on ebay that came form Steiner and also has a MLB hologram, but has also been sent to MEARS. My question is why ? Why do you need Mears to tell you it's real after A) MLB tells you it is and B) Steiner who has a deal with the Yankees tells you it's real. Is there a point ? It seems like just a waste of money.
