Do You Know If Foster Ever Ordered Model W173 Bats.

As best that I can tell in reviewing George Foster's personal shipping records, there are no orders of W173 model bats listed. I am sorry - your initial thread just said Foster, and I thought you meant George Foster. We do not have Foster Castleman's records unfortunately. You might be able to pick the bat up at a cheap price - the opening bid is only $9.99. W173 is a valid Louisville Slugger Professional Model Number. The bat could very well have been ordered by Foster, another player - or it may be a team indexed bat. Good luck! Jim

I saw that this bat went for around $35.00 on Ebay yesterday. That sounds like a steal to me. Castleman debuted in August, 1954 and got into a couple of games with the 1954 World Champion New York Giants. Although he wasn't on the World Series roster, when the buyer eventually comes across the guy who is collecting a game used bat from every member of the 1954 Giants, Castleman has to be one of the toughest. Very nice.
