The lack of a model number on the knob makes it very likely that this is a store bat. Robinson's first shipment of bats with his signature on the barrel was shipped on 12/5/46. It is generally accepted by authenticators that by the end of 1944 all professional models were produced with model numbers stamped into the knob. Also, as Marcus pointed out, the center label and barrel label do not look deeply stamped, although it is difficult to tell from a photo.
Robinson's early bat orders from 1946 through 1949 consisted of the following models, all at 34 1/2 inch length until May, 1949 when he ordered 35 inch lengths in addition to 34 1/2: G7, R17, S100, and W101.
Refer to Jackie Robinson's Player Bat Chart in the Game Used Library section of Game Used Universe for additional information.
Take a close look at the location of the REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. below the centerbrand, particularly the fact that this is the narrow variety. Seems to me that this bat was produced sometime in the first half of the 1960's, well after Jackie's playing career had ended. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the 1950's REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. began between the O and U of Louisville and ended below the K in KY.
You are correct, Kevin. The wording under the center label and the condensed version of that wording places the manufacturing date between 1961 and 1964.
