Help With 1997 Jersey
Hi, I Saw A 1997 Yankees Home Paul O'neill Jersey. The Jackie Robinson Patch Seems To Be Glued On The Jersey And Then Stitched On. I Noticed The Glue Because You Can See The Glue Under The Patch From The Underside Of The Jersey. The Glue Has Turned Yellow With Time. Can Anyone Tell Me If This Is Common Practice Or Should I Worry?
Thanks George

Re: Help With 1997 Jersey
I've got a 1997 road jersey with Steiner hologram that has the Jackie patch stitched to the jersey. I can't see any glue. Hope this helps

Re: Help With 1997 Jersey
It has been my experience that all numbers, letters, patches, etc, have a heat-sensitive adhesive backing. They are pressed to the jersey before being sewn down. This way they remain in place while being stitched. The sewer doesn't have to worry about placement--the patch, letter, whatever, isn't going anywhere. Hope this helps.

Re: Help With 1997 Jersey
Well hope this helps a little, during these years the yankees players were given 3 - 4 jerseys for home and away. So do your home work you found one, Broadway rick has one for sale so thats 2. Which means there is 1 or 2 more out there. If I were you I would check past auctions with the auctions houses and see if they had any.
This might help determing if the one your looking at is real.
Remember always do your homework!!!
