I can't if you're teasing me, Frikativ, or just don't know the history of Elite. One of those GU companies that started out so-so, then quickly began doing bad stuff, then were forced out of business this year. As far as I know, this is the first sign of them rearing their ugly head since then.

I have been following some of the madness with Elite on and off. But I was unclear if the mailing list was sold, or if Elite itself was participating in a Pyramid Scheme. It was also possible that a spammer could have hacked into Elite's accounts. Didn't realize they totally went out of business. Sorry if this sounds really ignorant.

I think Eric hit it on the head. Times get tough, business is in the dumps...sell of anything you have. Hopefully they only sold their e-mail list and not credit card numbers as well........
