Arrow Help with a Photo-Match, Please...

    Hey Everybody,

I am trying to photo-match my 2002 Jeff Bagwell home pinstripe jersey. To date, this is as close as I can get. Does this look like a good match to you? If anybody can help, I would really appreciate it.

If someone can find a definitive match, with conclusive evidence, then I will give a monetary bonus.

Here is an image from GettyImages.

Below, you will find the jersey in question.

From what I see (I am no expert) if you look at the "5" the stripe runs from what I see exactly alike. Also the ''T" is in the same area and cut off in the same spots.

Aren't both #5's on the front different colors? One red and one black?

Looking up the Astros on Getty, the majority of the pinstriped uniforms had black numbers with red rims on the front, however, I did see one photo where a red number was on the jersey while the other players had black numbers. The one in the photo definitely appears to be one of the black numbered jerseys. I think that even though there is a shadow, the red would be readily identifiable.

BTW Leslie, did you see the Bagwell jersey in the current Hunt auctions. Ends on 9/9/09.

Thanks for alerting me to it. The sizing looks right, but I am a bit skeptical of buying jerseys from auction houses. I thought the pinstriped jersey Bagwell wore during the World Series was in the Hall of Fame. Let me know what you think.

To my eye, it definitely looks like a red-numbered jersey with a shadow making it look darker. Can you give me one example of the Astros wearing a black-numbered pinstripe jersey? I always thought the numbers were red on Astros' pinstripes.

    Leslie,
I agree with you. It looks red to me also. If you look at the black on the Astros that is shadowed by Bag's are it looks to be darker than the number. The stripes also match through the numbers exactly. I like it, but need more shots to make sure. Good luck.
