I wouldnt say I am a closet Thome fan... and I admitted it freely a year agoi. I may not flaunt it often, but I've been around since his Indians days. While my Royals have stunk, I adopted the Indians in 1994 with Manny + Thome breaking out. I'm still claiming Berkman, though thats not real popular right now. Like most people here I've been a baseball fan my whole life. I grew up playing it all summer on the neighborhood lot until the street lights came on and I still get excited every September watching the pennant races and on into October when the post season starts - no matter who's in it. The steroid era debacle tempered my outward enthusiam for a spell but it never went away. Now I feel we all have the opportuity to watch a new era of baseball with a large group of some of the most exciting young players to come along in generations. GREAT TOPIC!
