Re: Anyone hear from Helen (cordovacollector) lately?
Hey guys, bad news.
http://www.gameuseduniverse.com/vb_f...ad.php?t=25643
In a post, she said she graduated high school in 1971, so 56 is the likely age.

Did someone say she was from Blue Earth?

Re: Anyone hear from Helen (cordovacollector) lately?
I feel very blue this morning after reading this thread.
It appears we have lost a very wonderful person who happened to be a community member here. Althought I didn't know her, my gut tells me she was a wonderful person. Life is short. Reading such sad news places all the other silly stuff here in very clear perspective.
God bless you Helen, I hope you are with your father again right now.

Really nice woman and a heckuva Twins fan. I only was in touch with her a short time, but I'll miss her as much as I will some of my decade-long friends.

Re: Anyone hear from Helen (cordovacollector) lately?
Last time she emailed me, was on Aug 17th., at which she told me she has been "laid low on chemo". Then I emailed her Sept 23rd and never heard anything back.
And yes, she is from Blue Earth.
Was one of the most pleasant people I've talked to. She put a smile on your face just reading a message from her. A super positive person.

Thanks for posting... Its nice to know, even though its horribly sad news.
I echo all the other nice sentiments expressed. She was a gem.

This was my favorite post of Helen's, from this year's D-Day thread...

I know the feeling. Anytime I stand and see the Colors march in - be it a parade or a ballgame - I fight to hold the tears back and wonder if I am the only one.
As a permanent remembrance since the day Dad died, when I stand for the National Anthem, I make it a point every single time to look at the flag and remember him.
The greatest treasure I own is a flag that flew on LST 351 when he served that is tattered and full of shrapnel holes.
