Here's the photo of Carter using Newman' s 88 NLCS bat.
I am alway curious when I see things like this. But in your picture the top "dark" mark is much lighter than the one below it. But in the proof shot they are almost the same darkness. Any idea how that happens when then other stay the same darkness?

That might have to do with bokeh, focus and the depth of field for the original photo.
2014 Big Papi Bat... He used this bat in the Bronx in the first series against the Yanks in April and then was seen again using this at BP at Fenway the 2nd series vs. the Yanks in April.
Just acquired George Hendrick's first baseman's mitt from 1983. George was an outfielder most of his career, but after Keith Hernandez was dealt to the Mets on 6/15/83, the Cards had a hole at first -- and Whitey Herzog asked George to learn a new position. This is the glove he used. Guessing he may also have used it with the Angels in the late '80s when he played a few games at first.
