Does anyone know what the numbers written in Sharpie mean on Rams Jerseys
Almost every game used old style Rams jersey I've seen has a number written in Sharpie. Does anyone know what this stands for?

You should look into the LA Ram jerseys that are up for auction with GUU and see if they too have such numbers. Two are rate Mears 10, and there's a great Gary Jeter 1980's helmet, as well.

I've always believed them to be the last digit of the year the jersey was ordered. Given the Rams' longtime penchant for recycling, jerseys are often found that were used later than the year of issue. Your photo shows a 1986-issued jersey, as the MacGregor/Sand-Knit tags were used in 1986 (as well as some 1985, 1987, 1988 and 1989 jerseys), although the jersey itself may have been used later.

That is correct. The number written on the tag is the second digit of the year the Rams got that particular jersey, not necessarily the year it was used though.
