    1971 world series

i was looking at the classic footage and noticed that brooks robinson was at bat with an LS bat that had a black ring on it to make it look like an adirondack.
anyone have any input on this? i reviewed the film and he was the only one with a bat like this. pretty neat i guess.

Although he was contracted to LS, Reggie Jackson used to do this, as well...a white strip of tape on a dark bat to give the impression that he was using an Adirondack when the bat was actually a LS.
Maybe the bat gurus can confirm this or refute it, but I think Brooksie was contracted to Adirondack, which would make the deception understandable.

I used to own a Mike Schmidt bat that was the same - Natural LVS with Red ring. I didn't think much of it at the time, but it has been 10 years since I owned the bat.

    Thanks,
