NFL AUCTIONS - Game Used
I was thinking it might be a good idea to document for everyone how much game used items go for on NFL auctions, with the date of sale. Just so everyone has an idea of how much they should expect to pay for an item, or at least ball park range. Im still new to this site though so maybe this isnt a great idea, guess I'll find out...

Re: NFL AUCTIONS - Game Used
This is actually a good idea as I have noticed alot of jerseys of the same player coming up a second time within a few months on there. i.e. Farve, Ronde Barber, Kevin Williams, Lee Evans, Jake Delhome, John Kasay, etc.
I will admit I bought the Williams. Other prices that I have paid on there are:
Shaun Ellis $450
Bryan Thomas $290
D'Brickshaw Ferguson $625
M. Roos $305
A. Crumpler $405
These are all within the last two months.

Re: NFL AUCTIONS - Game Used
Josh Cribbs GU Browns Jersey $905
Jamal Lewis GU Browns Jersey $980
Phil Dawson GU Browns Jersey $407
Joe Thomas GU Browns Jersey $1410
I was surprised to see the Thomas and Lewis go for more than the Cribbs!

Re: NFL AUCTIONS - Game Used
Interesting to see that the game used 49ers-Raiders football that "sold" for 1750$ is now re-listed. I have no idea why NFL auctions allows people to bid items up and up and then takes NO action when the high bidder doesn't pay. I am sure that the bidders really interested in such items are getting frustrated with such a ineffective system. Let's see who bids on the football and if the same "winners" still win. To give the previous winner the benefit of the doubt I didn't absolutely match the two footballs up but they sure look the same.

Re: NFL AUCTIONS - Game Used
The big time returners have short primes i.e. Dante Hall, Devin Hester, etc. and Cribbs does not do much else he averages under 10 receiving yards per game and has two, TWO career receiving tds. Prediction in two years everybody has forgotten about him and is fixated on the next big returner.

Re: NFL AUCTIONS - Game Used
Quick take as I have collected Browns gear for years.
Thomas - way too much and much much more than I expected.
Lewis - way less than I expected.
Cribbs - way less than I expected.
Dawson - I won this at my max bid and would not have bid any more, so I was glad that it was added to my collection. Overall, I am glad that I won it, but also understand that I will never make a buck off of it if I ever try and re-sell it.
Also, I was bidding on the Cribbs jersey, but did not have the available cash due to the holiday, otherwise I would have bid much higher than the ending bid. Cribbs is one of the most exciting Browns players we have seen in years. That being said, I will be bidding on the newly listed Cribbs jersey very aggressively. I do understand though, that whatever the ending price will be, it will be much greater than what it is really worth in a regular auction setting (as well are most of the NFL results are). I have purchased a number of jerseys from NFL Auctions and paid way more than what I felt they were worth, but was glad to obtain them as I do not plan on re-selling any of them. So... The first Cribbs jersey sold for less than what I thought it would sell for, but even at that price, it is really overpriced and most definitely not worth that in the regular market. But heck, I'm going to
bid more on the new one and be happy if I win and pay more than what it is really worth.
