if any wonder about where the homerun ball that bobby thompson hit aka "shot heard around the world" , you gotta read the book miracle baseball. great easy read on an plane flight.

When Griffey was first drafted by the Mariners they brought him to the Kingdome to impress him. They had a full uniform made for him and let him take cuts in his future home. The uniform is the mid 1980's trident uni's just before they switched to the single gold S. I have seen a few pics of Griffey in the uniform with the same trident style batting helmet on. I have not seen it other than those few pics......

Most of the hall of fames have such vast storage that if you havent seen something there is a chance they have it.
For awhile I wondered where Kurt Warners Packer jersey went but found out some guy in Wi got it in the packers tent sale.

In December 2005, at the Pujols Family Foundation Christmas event, they auctioned the jersey that Albert was wearing when he hit the ninth-inning home run off Brad Lidge in the 2005 NLCS.

Albert Belle's corked bat from the incident when Jason Grimsley crawled through the ceiling to steal it back out of the umpires locker room...on a related note, the bat that Sosa broke and the superballs flew out.
My football item is obscure- the jersey that Pat Terrell (FS at Notre Dame )was wearing when he knocked down the 2 pt conversion against Miami in 1988 clearing the way for the national title.
