Terry Francona

I need info on Terry Francona bats from his time with the Reds. I have a natural LVS W248. I would like to know what year it is from. Thanks

Hi--

Unfortunately we do not have Terry Fracona's H & B factory records available at this time. If you are sure that the bat is from his playing days with the Reds, however, note that the only season he was with the Reds was 1987, which would date that bat to that season. If you are not certain, try to "back door" the process to reduce the bat's time frame within the labeling period perimeters.

Check the labeling period closely. If it is from 1981-82 period, or 1983-85 period, it would be an Expos bat (during which time he wore uniform # 16, in case you can see remnants of a uniform number on the knob or barrel end).

If the bat is from 1986-89 label period, the uniform number would tell the story (if present), as he wore 4 different uniform numbers with four different teams during those four years: 1986 - Cubs - # 16 ; 1987 - Reds - # 10 ; 1988 - Indians - #24 ; 1989 - Brewers - # 30. For the 1990 label period Francona remeined with the Brewers and wore #30.
