    Rawlings Coolflo Batting Helmets

Were they introduced for the 2006 season? When were the players to start using the coolflo helmets?

    Re: Rawlings Coolflo Batting Helmets

They were first used during the 2005 All-star game for experimental purposes. Teams started using them in 2006, and some teams allow their players to use either helmet, Astros, White Sox and Royals come to mind. Some teams strictly use Coolflo helmets like the Mets, Marlins, and Tigers. Some teams have never used them like the Yankees, Red Sox and Indians. The Brewers use Coolflo helmets as a team, but only for their alternate throwbacks. And, throughtout the years some teams that originally were stricly Coolflo went back to the old style helmets because of complications (Dodgers, Cubs, and Orioles).
