    Michael Jordan 1984-85 rookie shoes

Fellow GUUers -- I know there are some Jordan experts on here with some absolutely sick knowledge about items like this. I do not know enough about early MJ shoes to pursue these without your input. What are your thoughts on the following pair?

    Thanks in advance!
Always looking for top NBA game worn items of superstar and Hall-of-Fame-caliber players (especially Kobe, LeBron, MJ, Curry and Durant). Also looking for game worn items of all players from special events (e.g., All Star Game, NBA Finals, milestone games, etc.). Please contact me at gameusedequip2@hotmail.com. Thank you.

Look good and autograph looks vintage. February 1985.
I would have to believe a collector in Japan would drop 20 thousand.

Japanese collectors really dig elaborate LOAs with foil stamping and notary seals, which this LOA lacks.

Thanks for the reply. Can you explain how you can tell? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

          Thanks in advance!
Here is my take on these shoes:

I believe, based on the size being 13 for one and 13.5 for the other, that these shoes must be from Michael Jordan's 2nd year, when he was injured most of the year and returned for the last few games and the playoffs when he lit Boston up for 30 points a game, even though The Bulls were eliminated in three!

From my memory, Michael Jordan wore shoes size 12.5 for his rookie season, and until the mid-1990's he generally wore size 13 shoes only. Then in the second half of the 1990's he started wearing size 13.5. Back during this time I once had a letter addressed to me by Jackie Banks, of The Michael Jordan Foundation, telling me of a time during the 1990's when Michael Jordan ordered both size 13 and size 13.5 shoes during the same season. I will guess I received this letter around the 1996-1997 period of time.

These shoes look good, but I would say, if photographic evidence can be found, that they would be from Michael Jordan's 2nd season, as I couldn't attribute Michael Jordan wearing 2 different size shoes or anything but size 12.5 during his rookie season.

Heritage Auctions is about to auction them off. Description matches the ebay shoes. Probably will be less expensive than ebay:

The Heritage pair is a different pair (not signed), no? The pair on eBay is dual-signed and still has over 2 hours to go before it ends. What am I missing?

The letter is of course meaningless to any collector who has two neurons to rub together. But just because it comes with a Lou letter does not mean that there is anything wrong with the shoes.

Both are good. My opinion is that you will pay a huge premium for the autograph.
