    ESPN 30 for 30 Documentaries

Has anybody been watching these? I feel like they have been very well done and the subjects have been fascinating, especially since most of them happened before my time.

    My favorites have been:
    1. The U
    2. Small Potatoes: Who Killed the USFL?
    3. Without Bias
    4. Muhammad and Larry
    5. Kings Ransom
    6. The Legend of Jimmy the Greek

If you haven't been watching, I would highly recommend them. There seems to be a lot of great topics to come.

Stream the latest episode of 30 for 30 on Watch ESPN. ESPN's award-winning documentary series.

I wonder if they will put these out on DVD when they are done with all 30?

They have all been great and I will be the first one in line if they come out on DVD. Another good show to watch is Sports Jobs with Junior Seau on Versus channel.

I hope they run some sort of a marathon of these over the holidays....I haven't seen a bad one yet (although the "Band that Wouldn't Die" is my favorite).

These are excellent -easily the best thing ESPN has done in years. In my opinion ESPN eventually ruins everything it touches but did hit a homerun on this series.

agreed. ESPN is to sports what Mcdonalds is to food.

If we are talking NFL, showtime is the only place that does justice. But sadly 2% of the population actually sees any of it.

Speaking of Showtime (which I don't have), I have been dying for that AFL documentary to come out on DVD. Any thoughts on it from those of you that have seen it ?

                    Thanks

They apparently will be coming out on DVD, the website provides an email address (below) to send your info to and they will contact you when they are available. Of course I am sure you will see non-stop commercials for it when the DVDs are available.

They are also on itunes, but are $5 per episode (yikes).

                      Email if you are interested:

I havent seen any of the documentaries, however, i dont believe that ESPN ruins everything it touches, it is more the parant company, ABC...

Every since they bought ESPN, ESPN has 100% been worse and worse...however, you have to say they did a great job with baseball....they took baseball when NOBODY wanted it, and turned that sport around.....some will say the steroid era did this, but imo espn did much to help baseball regain its old glory....

"Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs. the New York Knicks" premeired last night and it was absolutely amazing. Each one of these docs has been a must see.

Completely agree - enjoyed the Who Killed the USFL with Trump being a total D-bag and really loved "The U"!

And saw the Magic and Bird special on HBO - very well done
