Whent a bat may have been used for photo matching

I recently aquired a heavy game black louisville slugger used oakland A's bat. There is manufactured bat on the knob stamped. Do all bats have a date in the knob? The bat was broken in two pieces. Can anyone help at all thanks.

There is no manufactured date on the knob sorry.

Do you have pics of what you are referring to? I'm a bit confused. I know manufacture dates have been engraved on the knobs in the past two years I believe, there should be multiple posts from BMH about this.
