My Pete Rose 1975 Reds Road jersey..

Did some dealing a month or so ago and picked up this 1975 Pete Rose road game used jersey with great use. All original-no restorations. Coa from Mark Fugate-noted Reds game used experts. Mark, Dave Grob, and Dave Meidema, all agreed that the tagging on the inside back left puts the jersey at 1975. Reds Wilson road jerseys tagged as follows: 1973 (different Wilson tag and tagged outside of jersey); 1974 tagged outside left front; 1975 and 1976 tagged inside back left but if it was a 1976 it would have the Centennial patch or an outline of patch on shoulder-which this one doesn't. This jersey also spent time in the Reds Museum in Cincinnati in the Pete Rose display booth. Now I have a Rose 1975 bat and jersey. World Series champs that season of course, and Rose MVP of the greatest WS ever! Also, picking up a 1985 Reds home gamer of Rose with Bushing coa. Apparently this 85 jersey will be in the new Pete Rose movie coming out too. Check em out.

Here's my 1975 Rose R195 bat. Got a Taube psadna grade 10. He first ordered this model in 1975 so it's pinpointed to that year.

Yea, that photo of Pete is an original photo from 1975. He's got that H&B in his hands-which is hard to find in 1975. He usually used an Adirondack that season. I didn't mention that the 1985 jersey is size 43. The 1975 jersey is a size 44.

Great looking Rose Bat and Jersey. Nothing better than Big Red Machine Items.

On another note...what is the generally accepted position in the hobby with respect to Reds 74 and 75 Road jerseys. Are they tagged the same or are they different? Some time ago there was a previous thread

    http://www.gameuseduniverse.com/vb_f...=morgan+jersey

indicating 74, 75 and 76 were all tagged in the same manner. Of course 76 would have the bicentennial patch.

    Can we draw any conclusions?

I'm sure that Grob, Meidema, and Fugate all agreed that 1974 was generally tagged on the outside-not the inside. I'd love to see a Reds road jersey that can be pinpointed to the 1974 season and see the tagging. Can anybody help with this? Thanks!

Re: My Pete Rose 1975 Reds Road jersey..

fyi, several years ago Dave Grob told me that he had seen Andy Kosco home and away jerseys from 1974, and these jerseys had guided Dave when he wrote his 1970's Reds equipment guide. Kosco played for the Reds in 1973 and 1974 only.

He gave me the Navy military email address for the guy who owned the two jerseys. I wrote to the guy, but the address was no longer valid.

I then asked a Navy friend of mine to help track down the guy's current military email address, but the search came up empty.
