Philly fans...please show some class in respect of this great man and don't act like lunatics at the next Phillies home game.

RIP, Robin...a class act all the way.

Robin was a great pitcher... If they show any clips of him notice how similar he pitches to Tom Seaver... thats how good he was... (or Seaver pitches like him)

    Re: RIP Robin Roberts

I remember meeting Robin Roberts during a 1978 Old Timer's Day game in San Diego . Nicest and friendliest guy in the world. In the locker room he carried around an old baseball encyclopedia -- you remember, the 10 pound copies? Every now and then he would check the book, then approach a player --- a Hall of Famer or Old Timer like himself, or a current member of the '78 Padres --- and politely ask if they would sign his book. He had carried it with him for a very long time based on the number of signatures he had in that book. Here are a couple pics from that day.
