wait 10, 15, 20 years down the road to see if he is good then. it used to be that players had to play well for x amount of years before they were considered superstars. all of a sudden, nowadays, a player makes a good play or has a good start, and he is a superstar! give me a break.

as for the high prices, just as ridiculous.

Perfectly said. Let's give this some time before everyone freaks out over a guy with one MLB win. He is good no doubt, but it's all about being good for a long time.
Collecting Cardinals jerseys and bats, with a focus on Yadier Molina, Matt Holliday, and Adam Wainwright.

I think the only way any of these prices hold near what their certain prices are, is if he breaks Cy Youngs most career wins and Nolans most career strikeouts.
Those records are unbreakable. If he pitched for the next twenty years and won twenty games a year (which noone has ever done btw) he would have 400 wins which is over 100 shy of the record. He would have to pitch into his 50s even at that pace which again is something noone has ever done. The strikeout record is similarly inreachable. He would have to whiff 300 batters a year every year until he is 40. Which again has never been done.

Just a heads up..Nats & Indians will wear throwback jerseys Saturday (non pitching day for Strasburg I believe), but these should hit MLB.com. Also, the Indians are making available game used balls, bases & a few other items from Strasburg's Sunday start in Cleveland..if anyone is interested, call the Progressive Field team shop (sorry, don't have the number handy) but it's on the Indians website..Jay.

Wow. Final count... 84 bids and 75 retractions/cancellations.

I especially liked the bid for $900,000.00.

The team got very little. A few bases for the charitable foundation, some baseballs and some dirt.

MLB got the pitching rubber, tons of dirts, baseballs, rosin bag, bases and that wonderful cleat cleaner.

How much is 16 ounces of dirt worth and an autographed game ready ball of which they are MLB holo'd?

    He is pitching again today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I met Stephen and Boras last year after he signed his contract and made his first visit to Nats Park.

I think I will wait for the Private signing to let things cool down.

I hope people notice that most of the items on mlb auction are from his minor league debut and not hit major league one.
