Here is a fine example as to how BAD THINGS happen in this hobby ...
Here we have a Game Used Penguins jersey "customized" to be a Crosby.
Granted, those with a trained eye and being that the seller here is honest, it's easy to know better.
But, lets say that the person who in turn buys this is not that honest and flips it and then that persona flips it and the story on what this jersey was gets "lost in translation" ... here is a great example as to how somebody could get milked for 5K thinking that they are getting a "deal" on a Crosby gamer.
I have half a mind to just buy and wear the thing just to make sure it never sees the light of day. If this gets into the wrong hands, one of these days, it's gonna cost somebody who does not know better some megga cash!

Yeah someone could try to turn around and make a huge profit like you said. That is nice of you to try to buy it so it doesn't try to make its way into the GU world. It is frustrating that people would do that crap but sadly there are people that do. Best way to stop it though is to keep people informed and stay away from these items or in your case maybe try to buy it yourself and stop it from getting out there.

It also looks like the jersey doesn't have a nameplate.
