    Re: garvey bat

"In some cases, the Adirondack pro model number consists of one or two letters followed by two numbers. Often these pro model numbers are the initials of the player whose name appears on the barrel of the bat. For example, a M63 is a Willie Mays pro model bat. An MS20 is a Mike Schmidt pro model bat. Note that this lettering system differs greatly from H & B where the players initials followed by numbers usually represents a store model bat."

    ---BATS, p 65

Other known Adirondack examples include Reggie Jackson (288RJ and JAX44), Graig Nettles (GN9), Vada Pinson (194VP), Mark McGwire (MAC25), and Steve Garvey (SG6).

In this case, based on the poor quality pictures, it appears (?) that the bat is 1980-82, in which case you would want to see the batch number and the year code stamped on the knob as well.
