The real question is why? He will have alot of 1 of 1 cards in his career.

'10 Bowman Baseball/Chrome/Draft will be his best "RCs"; his "best" 1/1s.

Of course, his '10 Bowman Chrome, Green Superfractor Au. 1/1 will garner more (in theory) than the Base Red 1/1.

A player X, will go through countless bats through-out his career. However, the bat he used to hit HR number 19, will be insignificant compared to the bat he used to hit number 500. Likewise, with Bowman rookie cards.

The card is up to 100,000 dollars. I think I'd rather have a few hall of famers jerseys/bats etc.
            Thanks,
            Bobby

The seller with the Red Base auto, is not pre-approving bidders. Chances are it won't actually sell, because of this. I.e., people are just bidding for the giggles.

If you all remember, the card was initially up with a 50K BIN/BO. Why didn't one of the bidders hit that BIN, to save him-/her-self 51K?

              Shenanigans.

OK this has turned into a complete joke. The card is now up to $999,500.

I guess this one has to be canceled. It was fun to watch, but it looks like the party's over.

                    I thought this was funny

On Jun-23-10 at 15:38:45 PDT, seller added the following information:

Please do not bid on this auction if you are not serious about paying. I will cancel any bidder who bids with less than 10 feedback. Thank you for your cooperation.

This auction has become a joke but for those that still believe all bids are real, this card is getting plenty of publicity on the news.

                      Isn't all publicity good?

The bid history has a lot of retracted bids. My guess is the winning bidder won't pay and will only get a non-paying strike.

Since eBay buyers can't get negatives, the seller should bring a lawsuit against the winning bidder for damages (which rarely happens).

If I did my math right...

                            12% of the first $50, $6
                            6% of the next $950, $57
                            2% of the final $999,000, $19,980

Total Final Value Fee on $1mil - $20,043.00

                            ouch!

This is not a defense of spoof bidding, but when you list a $200 item with a Buy It Now price of $50K, you invite this kind of abuse.

And of course once the item gets any kind of media attention, you're sunk.
