Nice pickups! I especially like the Dewey Evans bat. Also, congrats on the Rollins WS bat you recently picked up. Can't wait to see pics of that one.

Thanks Dewey, I was surprised it went cheap, I will post pics when I get it and just had it photomatched and videomatched to the last out in game #3 in phila, final out by Rollins.

Greg....Love the Dee Brown. Do you mind telling us where you found it? One of my favorite Celtics! A real class act! I still remember the day he got arrested in Brookline..... but can't believe that it was 20 years ago!

Hey Woody.....Glad you like the Dolphins Jerseys!

    Re: post your July pick-ups

A big shout out goes to Tim Byington of HOF Bats for my latest pickup. If you're reading, Thanks Tim! It's a 1933-34 LVS Dick Bartell bat. Bartell is from my hometown and this is a great addition to my collection. I somehow missed this in the Hunt's February auction but Tim had the chance to pick it up and contacted me if I was interested and I jumped at the chance to own it.

The bat shows very heavy use and originates I believe from a Hunt Auction that they had in conjunction with Louisville Slugger in 2005. If I remember correctly it came from the LVS vaults or something like that. Does anyone remember this particular auction??

Dewey, what are all those marks on the end of the barrel? They almost look like cleats marks, but some of them seem to go really deep (More than cleat marks would).

They are mostly cleat marks but there is also some wear on the wood so that what makes some of them look deeper then normal.

That's a great Bartell bat! I see it selling in 2005, but not this Feb. I definitely would have scooped it up!
