    My Basement 'Redux' project...

My basement is finished (again) for now... just purchased another 4 WalMart Black 5 Shelf bookcases and some more mannequins and re-worked the room... it's still an unfinished basement but it's amazing what some carpet and bookcases can do to change your perception!

    Hope you guys like it:

1st some General Shots starting at one end and wrapping around:

And now a little more detail:

MATT HOLLIDAY with various Rockies 2007 NLCS / WS stuff:

JASON GIAMBI with misc Rockies stuff (Eric Young Jr items mostly - and with my vintage catcher's gear next to it):

JOSH HAMILTON with various Rangers items (Nolan Ryan mostly):

PETE ROSE with some of my baseball library below - and with my 'Natural' items next to it:

NOLAN RYAN with more Ryan items and more baseball library below it - and my desk and TV off to the left in the corner:

ALBERT PUJOLS with other Cardinals items and TAYLOR BUCHHOLZ GU Round Rock Express jersey next to it and Vintage Japanese AS Jersey with KAZ MATSUI GU Bat below it:

LUIS GONZALEZwith D-Backs stuff - and misc jersey rack and bats to the right:

BASEBALL CARDS with CROUSHORE jersey and LARRY DOBY AU Hat (in case) on top:

SMALL OAKLEY Case with various AU Baseballs:

LARGE OAKLEY Case with various AU and GU items:

TIMEX ROUNDER Case with various vintage items:

Still trying to find somewhere to display my Vintage (Silver Age) Marvel Comics Collection as well as some comic artwork.

    Hope you all enjoyed!

    Chris...

Look no further...you can proudly display your comic artwork and vintage comics at my house

but seriously, the room really looks nice and your collection continues to amaze me! You've quietly added a lot of really nice items over the past couple of years. Thumbs up my friend.

Looks nice, although a little drywall would have done wonders.

I'm just finishing a large addition on my house, and when all is said and done I'll have a 16x20 brand new basement room that my wife says is all mine! We had been discussing putting baseballs along the support beam, wondering if that would look good, and after seeing yours, I'm going with it.

PS: I'd love to know what some of those vintage baseballs are!

1st it needs to be framed out. The walls are solid concrete. We're planning on moving to AZ in a couple of years (kid graduate HS in 2012) and the cost and return for doing a finish job don't currently add up in the housing market.

As far as the Vintage Balls, I will post some pictures later for you, but I own 3 pre-1933 Red/Blue Stitch AL Balls, 1 pre-1933 Red/Black Stitch NL Ball, a 19th century Spalding 'seamless' or 'inside out' stitched ball, a 1930's Reach 'scout' ball, a few 1940's, 50's and 60's NL and AL balls, etc.

    KJ -

I found the small one on CL from an Optical Shop that was going out of business (I paid $200 for it) and it was steal as I see they on eBay from time to time and they generally sell for between $600 and $1,000.

The large one was the bigger steal - at retail it would be around $2,000 - $2,500. It was in a guys booth at the local weekend flea market and I asked not thinking he would sell it. He dropped a number and I dropped cash for it - $280.

Just check your local Craigs List (CL) for display cases and such.

Thanks so much for the kind words. As far as the comics and such... We're actually looking at a very nice SPY eyewear case that has become available here in Denver. If we get it and start to show off some of the Comics and such, I will add that to the post.

While I have you here - any interest in some Garrett Atkins stuff??? I hear the O's sent him down and 'wished him the best' which doesn't sound like he's coming back.

On another note, was it you that offered to get my George Will book signed? If so, please write me with your addy so I can send it to you - xpress34@comcast.net

    All the best -

Here's a few pics of some of the comics - all are Poor to Good Grade (I'm not looking to spend a fortune on Fine to Mint) but all are complete:

And a few Sketch Cards and Signed Art (no Original Art other than Sketch cards right now):

    Hope you enjoy the preview!!!

XPRESS-That is like a measeum and not a basement.Very nice and i really like the book case idea.I did'nt even think of that.Do you have them connected in any way.Or are they just sitting on top of each other.I just love looking at people sports room like yours. And drywall and a ceiling is not important to me.As i know it can be spendy to complete a basement with carpet and all of that.I used to have a very nice steelers and sports room before we moved. But in selling most of it and downsizing it as i cant display alot of it,my steelers and sports room is'nt like it used in our new place.Anyways,Its great to see rooms like yours.Be very proud of it.-thanks
