What does my friend have here???

My buddy who is a HUGE Reds fan called me today to let me know he picked up an item at a Garage Sale.

He then sent me pics (from his phone - so sorry about the quality) - just wondering if anyone here has seen anything like this before?

And regardless of value, he is NOT interested in selling! Just an FYI.

    Thanks!

    - Chris

Re: What does my friend have here???

looks like someone who was employed by the Reds organization received a presentation bat from Adirondack after they won the WS in '75 and rather than keep it in its original state, cut it in two (ugh!) and made a trophy out of it.

perhaps a Reds 1975 Media Guide can provide insight on who this prson was.

i know your buddy wasn't thinking of selling it, but I don't think it has a whole lot of value (particularly in it's present state).

    obviously unique!

Looks like one of those Adirondacks presentations WS bats which was sawed in half and mounted on the trophy base with a similar plate. I've seen these type of presentation bats (full bat) before but never mounted on a base like that. Perhaps the full bat was cut in half and mounted after the fact for display purposes.

    Thanks guys.

I was kinda thinking along those lines and wondering if the bat possibly got damaged before it was cut off.

Unless he can track down 'Casey Diab' I guess we will never know!

    All the best -

    Chris
