Los Angeles Dodger Flannel Jersey Experts

    Hi,
I have a Dodgers flannel jersey that is tagged 1968 set 1, and has the Rawlings tag Size 44, the wash tag intact, and Dodgers in script, blue felt on chest with red felt numerals, blue felt numbers on back, and is gray flannel.

The question is did the Dodgers were gray flannel jerseys at home, as well as the white uniforms?
if not, where would you believe this jersey to be from ?

My JPG pictures seem to be larger than forum allows. how can I download these pictures to forum.
I could email them to persons with interest.

    Thanks for your help,

    Bob Bellair

forgot to add...I think in 1968 they were wearing "Los Angeles" on the road greys. Might be minors, but I am not an expert. Any stitch marks under "Dodgers" were "Los Angeles" could have been removed?

If there are no alterations, it could have been re-used by Maury Wills in the early 70s, before knits were introduced. They switched to "Dodgers" on road flannels at that time. The stain between the "3" and the "0" could be photo-matchable.

Is it just me or do the front red numbers look different sizes ?

                Lokee,

                You are correct.
The number three is red felt and measures 2 5/8" wide and 5" tall, the width of the numeral is 7/8".
The zero is red felt and it measures 2 3/4" wide and 4 1/2" tall, and the width is 7/8".
Therefore the 'zero is 1/8" larger in width, and 1/2" shorter in height, with the width being the same.

There are no alterations or repairs that have been done to this jersey. I believe these numerals to be the original applied.
Do you think that Rawlings could have been in a hurry and did not catch the size difference?
I would be interested to know if any other members who may have a similar jersey, have these types differences.

The blue felt numbers on the back of the jersey are consistant. these blue felt numerals are 4 5/8" wide, 7 1/4" tall, and 1 9/16" wide.

                Thanks,
                Bob Bellair
