Game "Issued Gloves"--What value?

Just wanted your take on the game-issued glove phenomenon. Prices are all over the map--as high as $2500 and more.

What are these things worth to you? What do you have?

it looks like g/i gloves are going the way of pro cut jerseys. They are everywhere right now. I wouldnt buy one unless i was buying it from the player. Odds are most of these gloves have never been seen by the player whose name is on them. Especially considering there was a hundred or so of them last time i looked on ebay.

I would rather get a game used glove of a lesser player for a tiny fraction of the price.
