RJ, you probably could hear my groan when I saw your post. We have the same idea about collecting bat themed pics to go with game used bats. I am still gathering pics and trying to come up with a coherent and not incredibly space consuming way to display. Of course my are much more tasteful as they are Red Sox and not Yankees, but all the same, I think it is a very cool idea. I particularly like the posed ones most popular in the 60s with the players aiming bats like rifles or holding 4 at a time. I have an idea for a display and if I ever put it together I will post it.

Collecting Red Sox bats 1960 to present, need Ron Jackson (60), Ray Webster, Carmen Fanzone, George Smith, Felix Mantilla, Ken Poulsen, Chuck Goggin, and Luis Alvarado

        I have a Mattingly GU L/V Slugger T141 - Autographed 1986-89 for sale.

Thanks, Jeff. It has taken me a couple of years to collect the photos. I have a few that didn't quite make the cut and am always on the lookout for more upgrades in the hope that I'll have more space one day.

Always looking for Don Mattingly and other Yankees' game-used items and quality memorabilia.

Ken (earlywynn fan) how did you make the bat structure in the corner? Are the bats glued together? It looks really cool.

Re: Show Off Your Newly Renovated Memorabilia Rooms

My wife surprised me for Christmas and had our basement turned into a sports area. She hired a local company to design and build this. They built it all in 5 days while we were out of town. What a nice surprise to come home to.

Nice new cave, Joel! You have a keeper my friend.

My wife is too scared to touch anything in the cave... even when I ask her to grab something or hold something she says no and runs off. She can tend to be a klutz though, so it may be for the best.

Everybody asks about those. It's the easiest thing in the world: just lay a bat down and lay the next one alongside with the knob overlapping. The knobs hold them together, although it's obviously not the sturdiest. The one I have pictured is a little too tall, but it works.

EVERY collector needs a room like this. Looks good, Joel. Very cool wife, indeed.

Not strictly a memorabilia room - its more like home-theater, home-bar, poker, pool hall, sports museum... but I'm squeezing in as much as I can little by little... I think if I add a piece here and there the wife won't notice like she would a huge wing being added...

Thanks... if its any consolation, us Kansans are jealous of all the beach front and girls in short skirts that you guys have.
