    Ditka Bears gamer in Legendary

If I were a Bears fan this would have to be near the top of the "grail list", any thoughts?

I can't find anything wrong with either the Sayers, the Ditka, or the Johnny Morris.

    Wonder where they came from.

Question Re: Ditka Bears gamer in Legendary

The Ditka is of the cotton variety vs. the traditional dureen worn by Ditka during his Bear years. This is a very difficuly call and probably can never be resolved. The cotton shell became prominent in the 1967 season and after. Ditka's last year with the Bears was 1966. Can 1966 be a transitional year to to a cotton shell? A possibilty, but me memory of watching those games and all available photos and videos can not support a cotton shell. If this is indeed a 1967 cotton variety then it was worn by Terry Stoepel. The tagging is the same for 1966 and 1967 and what makes it even more difficult is that Ditka and Stoepel were similar in size so no difference can be noted by the size tag. This is totally up to the bidder as there is nobody that can make this call. The Bears don't have this detailed information.

The Morris is the same cotton shell , however Morris played throgh 1967 making this example an end of career jersey.
