David Ortiz Rawlings game used bat sold for $1775

Just ended on ebay for $1775, a signed game used Rawlings David Ortiz bat with a cracked handle and lite use. I think someone overpaid on this one!

Yeah, and the same guy bought a "used" Manny bat for $800. What a bargain! Right? That bat could not have been swung more than three or four times. Paying a couple hundred bucks a swing...still not anywhere near to what the Red Sox are paying him, but a little spendy. I would just hope that the one or two balls that actually came in contact with that bat were more than a loud foul ball.

Last year I paid $625 for a game used, unsigned, David Ortiz Rawlings bat from the 2004 season. I had to have one from the World Series year. I bought the bat from Grey Flannel, with a letter from them and a PSA/DNA authentication. $1775 appears way too high!

Congrats to ESM on that one! Just a JSA for the sig and no MLB holo or Red Sox letter for game use.

If anyone wants to overpay me on a Alfonso Soriano SAM bat, I have one ending on eBay tonight and it has a MLB #'d hologram! Its just under $400 now!

I just bought the same model Ortiz red handle maple Rawlings and mine albeit not from ESM shows more use and is not cracked. It is sure to pass the PSA/DNA authentication. The ESM bat was around triple what i paid. And staindsox thats funny you mention that about the guy that bought the bats i noticed the same exact thing.Must have unlimited funds and a thing for bats with little use.

It always takes at least 2 bidders to push the bids up. JBarfield was the backup bidder.

JBarfield has been a solid customer for Elite, look at their feedback!

    Yes,
That is the Jesse Barfield. I remember him selling a Manny Ramirez bat 6 months ago or more and offered his own letter to accompany the bat.
