Dodgers Uniform Experts Please?
Hi Guys,
What do I have here? Alternate or BP? I have googled all ways I can think of.
Jersey is from 1998. Thank you for your help.

I'm definitely not a Dodger jersey expert. But based on the fabric in this picture, it looks to me like a BP jersey.
Getty lists these pictures as May 16 and 20, 1998.
Note a different manufacturer logo on right sleeve. I can't find a picture from 1998 of him wearing Russell.

My best guess is a 1998 BP Jersey. The alternates were only used in 1999.
I searched on Getty and the best date is "The Giants won 1998" then look up date 3 Jul 1998 and you will see photos of the actual game action photos (Dodgers using regular road jersey) and other photos (background no people using this type jersey). The other photos look to be still before the game.Regards,

Wes! This is one of the reasons I'm glad I hooked you as a friend.
Family and I are limping along on very sporadic IP service from AT&T (and switching real soon) and I am not a paying customer of Gettyimages so I would not have seen these without your help.
Thank you for your help and although I search (as an outsider) the Getty site I get "zero" 1998 images of Jim to come up. Thanks again. TTYL.

The Dodgers wore blue mesh pre-game tops in an Interleague series against the Angels in June 1998. One sleeve had the 98 anniversary patch, and the other sleeve had a "Think Blue" patch. I can't remember, though, if they were Russells or Majestics. Do a Getty search for "Dodgers Angels 1998," and you should be able to see some pictures.
Maybe you can check the blank sleeve on your mesh jersey to see if there are any visible signs of a removed patch?
