This well used road grey has his name on a tag stitched down the front inside, is tagged as his size 46 by Wilson in the collar, and shows great MLB usage from "Donnie Baseball". It is a gem, trimmed in blue and white team colors, and with his #23 as well as "New York" sewn front and back. Wow...All the right markings are here, and value is $2000.00 or so. Near impossible to find!

I have seen a few of these retail jerseys with the "Mattingly 92" tag. They are all signed with the same style Mattingly signature. Someone must have made these up for a signing, now people are trying to sell them as used/issued jerseys

HIDEOUS!! Thre name should be in the collar (along with a year and set number), the Wilson tag should be in the tail, Mattingly wore a size 42 then, and the NEW YORK front font isn't even close. Only at Coach's Corner!!
Actually the one you linked isn't as bad as you think. I'm not as familiar with the Ft Lauderdale & Tampa Yankees jerseys from those days, but the one you linked does resemble jerseys used by the Oneonta Yankees in the late 70's/early 80's.

Definitely not organization wide. I know the AAA Scranton Yankees issues 4 each year. Eric Bruntlett wore it this year. I can't seem to find a photo of any Ft. Launderdale Yankees road jerseys but that does seem familiar and possibly could be correct even with the 4. But I certainly don't know for sure. The Mattingly is a disaster though.

Kinda like Ernie Banks' #14 for the Cubs...retired at Wrigley Field but used in the minors and even the Arizona Fall League (Eric Hinske wore #14 in the AFL as a Cub 10 years ago.)
Thats intersting that the Yankees would retire #4 for jus the Major League club and not the others. I know the Mets have retired numbers for the Major clubs and have done so for the Single A club.
