Re: Your Favorite Alltime NFL Player
Jim Plunkett, the Raider restoration project of restoration projects.
After being released by San Francisco, he spends 2 seasons in Oakland as a backup. Given up for dead, he takes over for injured Dan Pastorini in 1980 and wins the Super Bowl, being named the game's MVP.
Back to the trash heap, until Marc Wilson is injured in 1983, and again Plunkett (who'd have thunk it) takes over and leads the Raiders to another Super Bowl victory.
Plunkett is in my mind the best example of not quitting, even when things look hopeless. Not to mention, he's a great guy.

Fran Tarkenton QB (Minnesota Vikings). Loved to watch him scramble and avoid tackles.

Re: Your Favorite Alltime NFL Player
All-Time: Joe Namath/George Sauer (tie) ... I loved this connection in the '60s.
Current: Eli Manning ... In my opinion, the most underrated player in the NFL. I'm not a stats guy, and I know, I know, he's not the most accurate ... I just love watching him win FB games. Just love watching him operate an offense under pressure late in game. Later the game, more the pressure, cooler and more effective he is.

Re: Your Favorite Alltime NFL Player
John Jefferson - have never seen another WR quite like him. Too bad he didn't stick with the Chargers...Jerry Rice would've been trying to break JJ's records. I didn't realize there were a few other JJ fans on here. I have only seen 1 game used jersey of his up for auction (a Packers one). But, that was before I started collecting and visiting this site. Does anyone have any of his stuff? If so, I'd love to see pics.
