Could this be a 1969 Redskins jersey ?

I came across this today was wondering if I could get some input on this one. It looks to me like a Redskins jersey with the 50 year NFL patch, but I am not sure . The patch looks smaller than the one I have seen in pictures at 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide. I am not sure how to post pictures on this forum, so here is a link to the pictures.

Looks completely legit to me. Would you email me and tell me where you live? ( I won't reveal your honey-hole.)

No, I don't think it is legit. I have seen a photo of the Redskins wearing that style jersey during the 1969 pre-season but I'm not sure those had the NFL 50th shield.

For the regular season Lombardi switched them to the same uniform style as he had used for the Packers - just change the green to burgandy (he also lightened the color from a very deep burgandy that was almost maroon to the current burgandy). This is a black & white photo, but 1969 was the only season where the Redskins wore the spear helmet and the Packer-style uniform (switching to the yellow helmet in 1970 and the current helmet in 1972). This photo is from October 5:

I also don't believe the earlier uniforms had a burgandy collar

I stand corrected on the burgandy collar, but I can't tell if these have the 50th Anniversary patch. The old-style was only worn in pre-season:

Here is another one - again you can't see if there is a 50th patch:

However, the color on these would be that darker burgandy used through the 1968 season (and evidently through the 1969 pre-season) - here is a shot from either 1967 or 1968:

I forgot about the plain jerseys in the early season; I thought those were practice not game photos. A few NFL teams wore plain mesh jerseys in September (or even October) and switched to Durene jerseys with stripes when the weather started getting cold. The '69 Vikings also wore plain purple jerseys with plain numbers early in the year and switched to Durene with the northwestern stripes and gold-trimmed numbers later in the year.

The photo I posted was from an October game - where they were wearing the striped jerseys.

I still haven't seen a shoulder-loop jersey shot that shows the 50th patch; I can confirm that they were only worn for pre-season games (like the 8/8/69 shot above).

hey guys, thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it. It is collecors like you that make this such a great place. I am still doing a little digging, but with your help, the picture is getting clearer.

These jerseys were last used during the 1970 training camp. They were last used in games during the 1969 preseason. Here is a link to a tutorial of 1970s Redskins uniforms:
