Re: Greg Oden biggest bust ever?
I agree with Yankees506, Ryan Leaf = Bust. He got the chance to play and showed he did not have the talent to be an NFL quarterback.Comment

Re: Greg Oden biggest bust ever?
I knew that would come up. But consider this: The Chargers did not have a shot at Peyton, that drafts best player. Leaf also was the 2nd not first pick and the team stunk. It was not pretty but at least he played. In contrast, Oden was picked first before a guy that looks like an alltime great, went to a playoff caliber team and has missed years at a time and when he has played it has not resembled greatness.Comment

Re: Greg Oden biggest bust ever?
The case for: Kevin Durant was the # 2 pick. Al Harford #3. Joakim Noah #9 I think they would take any of these guys now before Oden
The case against: Basketball is the hardest sport to draft. There are dozens of Odens over the last 50 years.
Does anyone remember how 50% of the sports "experts" said he was the right pick and 50% said he was a future bust? So half the blogging idiots were right for once and 50% were stupider than us as usual and were wrong as usual?

Re: Greg Oden biggest bust ever?
I think it's JaMarcus Russell just based off the play of a few of the players who they passed on...
Calvin Johnson
Joe Thomas
Adrian Peterson
Patrick Willis
Darrelle Revis
All of these guys are considered one of the best at their positions.looking for anything from former Tampa Bay Buccaneer & current Jacksonville Jag Roy MillerComment

Re: Greg Oden biggest bust ever?
Could certainly make a case for Sam Bowie, base on his career and who he was selected ahead of.
The longevity award for this draft goes to pick #27. He just retired
West France Newspapers announce this Tuesday that 50+ years old Ron Anderson has finally 'retired'. The US born forward has been playing for many years for La Seguniere- not far from Cholet; and was still able to put points- On 2nd Oct 2010 he scored 23 points in a Div 4 game- 2 weeks before turning 52.
A painful bad knee finally forced him to stop playing.
Ron has has a 10 years NBA career primarily with Charles Barkley in Phily,
averaging 10pts in 664 matches. (a high of 16.4 pts in 88-89 with the Sixers)
He later joined Montpellier where he was Div 1 top scorer.
After a spell with Maccabi Tel Aviv, he ended his pro carreer with Le Mans and Angers. ( He got married there)Greg
