Re: The Jayson Werth era in Philadelphia now over...
Seems "OUT OF CONTROL" spending is the norm for the Washington area. Whether it's our Federal Government, the Redskins (McNabb) or the Nationals (Werth) they just keep spending it.

Re: The Jayson Werth era in Philadelphia now over...
He is 32 years old as of early next season with a spotty history except for the past two years in a lineup of mostly allstars in a hitters park. This is the single worst contract in baseball history. They now have an albatross on their payroll. The question is will this cost them Zimmerman in the future when they cant pay him comparably to his inferior teammate. It is great that they are trying to make a splash but just tossing money at people solves nothing. I am a Mets fan and this is something they would do, the have money lets buy anything way to run a team. The Mets did it last year with Jason Bay and look how well it worked for them.

Re: The Jayson Werth era in Philadelphia now over...
A GREAT deal........for Jason Werth- way to cash in.
What are the Nats thinking?????? Overpaying for a 32 year old outfielder who had a couple good years hitting in a great lineup/ballpark. His numbers wont get better as he gets older. The $ given to him should only be given to stars in entering their prime or established players who project to improve . It should be a treat seeing him in the OF in 3-4 years also... Stupid is as stupid does...

OVER-RATED!
He will be to the Nats as AJ Burnett is with the Yanks!
