"R" Stamping ?

Hi Guys, I have a store model bat 33 inches in length with the letter R stamped on the end of the knob and on the end of the barrel. Does the R stand for reject? Thank you for your time.

On some Louisville Slugger models, the “R” on the knob represents a bat that “replaced” another bat which did not live through its warranty period.
