ST Locker Plates
Hi All,
Just a question about ST locker plates. The Tigers have a few for sale including two from Aussie Brad Thomas:
http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4375432
http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4207660
Can anyone tell me what the difference between the two is?
Do they have home and away versions?
Is there such a thing as an game issued locker plate (i.e. one that was never used?)?
Why would one be $40 and one $20 originally? (Both discounted to $18 now).
Do these every get re-used in regular season?
Sorry for all the questions but still learning!
Thanks!
Mark.

Re: ST Locker Plates
Mark,
Find out the size of the nameplates. A few years back, the Mets had spring training nameplates that looked identical in every way to the regular season nameplates... but there was a difference. The spring training ones were a fraction of the size of the regular season ones. Not saying that this would be the case with the Tigers, but worth checking out.

Re: ST Locker Plates
I am not sure if all MLB teams use Tag-Up for their locker room name plates but here is their link if you need to contact them:

Re: ST Locker Plates
Thanks guys, was hoping just by looking at them, Tigers fans may have recognised the design to see if it was regular season as well.
Will try to email Tag-Up.
Thanks,
Mark.

Re: ST Locker Plates
Sorry for double post:
The white rectangular plate: http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.js...956848.4196078 is 8" x 1.25"
Blue die-cut plate: http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.js...432&cp=4196078 is 5" x 21"
Is assume the 21" is a typo and should be 2.1" Both descriptions state ST, but you think the bigger could be regular season too?
Thanks,
Mark.

Re: ST Locker Plates
Hi Mark,
I hope I can answer all your questions clearly. The bottom one (whiter, only an inch or so high) is the spring training one, the bigger blue one w/ the old english D is the regular season one. Spring training ones are not used during the season (at least for the tigers) as the lockers here take a different size plate. Sometimes the tigers have had multiple plates (same style/same year) of the same player, maybe to have extra on hand, not sure why. Those look authenticated in your photos, so you should be fine.
The tigers do put out a new style every season too. Tag up does have a dating code at the bottom of there tags, so if you ever come across one that doesn't have the year on it, its easy to determine what year it was from. Please feel free to email me with ANY questions. I can measure mine later tonight when I get home to confirm the sizes if you like.always looking for Detroit Tiger world series player bats......game used 2006 & 2012 world series items....Quintin Berry bats....also interested in Ivan Rodriguez bats...
