Two WW2 era players pass away
Buddy Lewis, a 2-time All-Star who spent his entire career (1935-41, 1945-49) with the old Senators and also served in the war, has died at age 94.
Also, Jake Tapper, a short-term (8 games) catcher for the 1942 Brooklyn Dodgers, passed away at age 91.

Re: Two WW2 era players pass away
I think you mean Cliff Dapper.
Buddy Lewis didn't just serve in the war, he pretty much had the most distinguished service record of any major league player. Very interesting read here: http://www.baseballinwartime.com/pla...ewis_buddy.htm

Re: Two WW2 era players pass away
Man, how'd I get "Jake Tapper" out of "Cliff Dapper"?
Thanks for catching my brain fart, Ken.
