A couple of historically significant 2009 World Series Items...

Thought these two were worth their own thread. I just picked up two amazing MLB authenticated baseballs from game 1 of the 2009 WS and Game 6 of the 2009 WS at the New Yankee Stadium.

The first, is a Ryan Howard double from inning 1 of game 1. The significance? The first World Series hit at the new stadium. I wish it was hit by a Yankee, but unfortunately, that did not happen and Howard doubled for the first hit. The ball has a great grass stain with grass still stuck in the laces.
Session Name: 2009 WORLD SERIES GAME 1 PHI AT NYY
    Session Date: October 28, 2009
    Autographer:
    Authenticator: AUTHENTICATORS, INC.
Additional Information: 1ST INNIN, HOWARD V. SABATHIA, DOUBLE TO RIGHT

and the second ball, is from game 6, thrown in the 6th inning for a double to Raul Ibanez. The significance? This was the last ball thrown by Andy Pettitte who was pulled right after the hit and Girardi was walking out while the ball was still being thrown back in. The umpire never had a chance to give Pettitte a new ball, so this is the last WS ball handled and thrown by Pettitte, who got the win in the game and will always be remembered for everything he did in the WS for the Yankees in his career. This ball shows really good use with dirt and grass on it.

Session Name: 2009 WORLD SERIES GAME 6 PHI AT NYY
    Session Date: November 04, 2009
    Autographer:
    Authenticator: AUTHENTICATORS, INC.
Additional Information: INNING 6 BATTER IBANEZ PITCHER PETTITE DOUBLE

Figured it was worth posting these as I know there are a lot of Yankees fans on the board who might like to see these.

    Nice pick ups.
You should have Pettite sign the ball with a nice inscription
