Fred Sanford, an American League pitcher from 1943-51, died March 15 at age 91.

Sanford pitched for the Yankees, Senators and Browns. He was part of the 1949 and 1950 World Championship Yankees squads, this after being acquired after the 1948 season from St. Louis, where he led the league in losses with the woeful Browns in 1948 while posting a 12-21 record.

Tommy Dunbar, an outfielder from 1983-85, died March 16 at age 51.

Dunbar was a reserve flychaser for those three seasons with the Texas Rangers.

Finally, Bob McNamara, briefly a member of the Philadelphia A's in 1939, died March 9 at age 94.

McNamara played in 9 games in '39, posting a single and a double in 9 at-bats.

Didn't he get into the junk business with his son after leaving baseball?
