Opinion On this Red Sox Jersey

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Rich-Garces-Game...item19c3ebe573

Is it just me or does that tag look off ?

I have seen this tagging on Minor League stuff but never MLB.

I have seen that Russell tag on one other MLB gamer, and it, too, was a size 54 (Yanlees pitching coach Billy Connors). I think the use of it centers on the huge sizing of the jersey...kind of like the Wilson tags in the 1970s and 80s that had no size printed on them, but had a size either handwritten on the tag in laundry marker, or embroidered in with a font similar to the year tags of tbhe era.

What the seller doesn't mention is whether or not the jersey had the All-Star Game patch removed (which it likely does). The patch was worn in 1999, but was removed for 2000 spring training (and this jersey has the MLB neck logo, which first appeared in 2000 preseason)
