David Ortiz rips cover off of ball literally!
I just acquired a beautiful David Ortiz 2006 Rawlings maple bat.See pics below. Now i am a small time collector compared with some of the big dogs on these boards so pardon my making a big deal out of what might possibly be a common occurance. On this bat is a actual piece of the ball and corresponding deap stitch marks, with blue 'rawlings' visible. This ball must have been crushed!I have seen 'rawlings' on bats before but never a piece of leather. Is this common?

Nice bat !!!! The only other time I have ever seen this was with several Canseco bats. He also hit the ball with great power and transfering baseball leather on the bat. Enjoy ....
