RIP, Larry Shepard
Larry Shepard, a longtime minor league pitcher in the 1940s and 50s who made it to the Show after his playing career, died April 5. He was 2 days past his 92nd birthday.
Shepard managed the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1968-69, and became a key coach for Sparky Anderson's vaunted Big Red Machine teams of the 1970s.

Re: RIP, Larry Shepard
Larry was a decent pitching coach for the Phillies before he took the Buccos. In those days, every manager in Pittsburgh was interim until Danny Murtaugh returned from retirement.
