Former New York Mets Clubhouse Manager Indicted
VIA ESPN ... Former New York Mets clubhouse manager Charlie Samuels was indicted on charges that he criminally possessed nearly $2.3 million worth of game-used memorabilia -- including signed jerseys, bats and baseballs -- that belonged to the Mets organization, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown announced Wednesday....

A few years back, I worked arena security, and yeah, as someone with an interest in game used gear it got tempting from time to time. I didn't, and wouldn't, cross that line though, and can muster little empathy for a guy with presumably a great job that jacks $2.3 million in gear. Just . . . wow.

Makes you wonder how easy it would be to actually shift that much gear. We're a paranoid group at times, so imagine if all of a sudden "507 signed and unsigned jerseys, 304 hats, 828 bats, 22 batting helmets and 10 equipment bags" turned up on the market...Thats crazy amounts.
I wonder if it will be turned over to the Mets or auctioned off by the state?
