    OT - Parkour

    Hello Everyone,

I was introduced about a year ago to an atheletic discipline known as "Parkour". Though it is not technically a "sport", in fact true traceurs (or parkour practioners) do not participate to compete with one another but to learn to excel and help others do the same, it is fascinating to see its development. Interestingly, it popularity has grown quickly primarily because of new mediums like YouTube.

Here is a video of some guys from Cambridge, England. These guys are pretty amazing. My son actually met these guys while doing a summer program there (you will need to click the play button after clicking this link):

Parkour is the physical discipline of training to overcome any obstacle within one's path by adapting one's movements to the environment.

Inspired by YouTube videos and the like, my son started a Parkour group in our hometown. Though my son has only been at it for a year, here is a video he put together with some of the guys in his group (my son is the one you see at the close of the video):

On the lighter side, here is a clip from the series "The Office" where the guys get inspired to do their own version of 'Parkour':

Sorry, we couldn’t find that page

    Hope you enjoy!
