OUCH is right!

This is really a hit to the Cardinals and should be a nice test. To answer your question though, it could go either way (help or hurt him in the Winter). If the Cardinals struggle badly over these next 4-6 weeks, it only makes Albert's value to the Cardinals stand out more. If the Cardinals play well, people could start thinking that maybe the Cardinals don't need to meet or get close to his demands. In my opinion, it all depends on their play.

But, good play or bad, it still most likely makes 2011 his worst year. He'll have a lot of catching up to do to reach the 30 home runs/100 rbi/.300 avg mark....and that could hurt his value a little.

It really is unfortunate though.
